Maya Emelle founded Higher Ground for Humanity (HGH), a nonprofit organization that designs and implements programs to address intergenerational emotional and physical well-being challenges in local communities.

Before founding HGH, Emelle spent three years at Meta (formerly Facebook), where she worked on the Global User Experience team designing research and data analytics-informed programs to drive measurable impact.

Emelle's work at HGH is informed by her experience at Meta and focuses on designing solutions for shared challenges related to well-being for youth from low-to-no income families.

Under her leadership, HGH has developed trauma-informed programming that empowers resilience in youth and tackles modern-day challenges with inspiration and practices gained from lived experiences.

HGH is a mission-driven education tech company designing experiences to support the empowerment of teens with the skills, expertise, and community to navigate their own emotional and physical well-being.

In addition to her work with HGH, Emelle is a three-time award-winning film producer. Today, she uses her love of storytelling to support and empower the next generation of leaders at Higher Ground for Humanity.
